Guided Tour Johannesburg

This is it, you have arrived at the capital of Gauteng, the hustling, bustling city centre of Johannesburg. You start to wonder what its story might be. The city of Gold, jobs, commerce, yes never a dull moment in this vibrant city, loads of bustling in the day and a pretty amazing night life too. But you want to find out about the heritage, you want to do a little sightseeing a little historical analysis. King Solomons mines you say…well with the mine part you’d definitely be onto something. Mining is a big part of Johannesburg ‘wellbeing’ so to speak. How about taking a trip down a replica of Johannesburg’s early gold mining village. It was once the richest gold mine of all. Then there’s the fun part, you’ll get to see a gold bar being poured, the great part being that if you can pick it up it’s yours, bear in mind however that the chances of you actually being able to pick it up are slim to none. But fun, nevertheless. the infamous Gold Reef City Built around the original No. 14 Shaft of Crown Mines, Gold Reef City recreates the city of Johannesburg as it was during the gold rush days of the last century. Learn about the discovery of gold, stare awestruck at the houses of the Randlords. Hmmm, I think a morning tour of Soweto would be great tour. Then of course there is the visiting of Lesedi Cultural Village, great arts and crafts, traditional restaurants, set in the renowned Bushveld and rocky hills, you could even stay overnight to fully enjoy and appreciate the traditional villages, the homesteads and lets not forget the traditional song and dance. Aah the festivities. Or how about watching the talented and highly coordinated gum-boot dancers.

There are loads of trips you could take, you can choose between crowded buses where you get to make new friends and have loads of back and forth, or you can do some semi-private tours, simply being because you already have friends and wish to focus on the scenery not the cackle and babble of a bunch of excited strangers. Tours are a great way to get a overview of pretty much everything you should be seeing, and there are loads of different kinds, all depending on where you want to go and what you want to do, its always nice to on the way back from a little learning experience, to enjoy the scenery of the city on the way back…you know…just while you’re taking in all you’ve learnt. Reflecting. It’s powerful.
