I had a lovely time visiting Kruger. The accommodations at Thornhill Lodge were excellent. I enjoyed visiting with folks from around the world after a day on a safari.
The food was very good and presented in an attractive manner. The only exception was breakfast in Kruger. It was not enjoyable at all.
We found the game preserve allowed us to see the wildlife more frequently than Kruger, but both were excellent experiences.
The guides generally were superb in locating wildlife, and in providing information about them. We so appreciated the guides maneuvering the vehicle so we could see better and capture better pictures.
We had one "free day". We were disappointed to find that our free day landed on a Sunday. We felt severely handicapped as we were unable to do anything, not even take a walk. Everything is closed on Sundays and it is not safe to walk anywhere outside of Thornhill Lodge. I would suggest making sure free days are NOT on Sundays.
