We, my wife and I, were warmly received at the reception by competent and polite staff, in a pleasant but not outstanding reception area. The setting of the resort, though urban, was nonetheless very good, with water a main feature just about everywhere. And staying with water, the warm (and hot!) pools gave us the most pleasure. We read about health benefit claims associated with the water but we are unable to substantiate this ... at least, not yet!
Our one bed-roomed chalet, next to a lake, had all the basics that we needed, but not much more ... not an issue for us. Maintenance seemed to be a problem though. Many windows needed some fixing, and a sofa cushion had a conspicuous tear that we reported to staff.
The lake water (this is the lake which was close to our chalet) was far from sparkling clean ... something which came as a major surprise to us. It was not clear whether this was as a result of man-made pollution or a natural biological consequence of the mineral-rich spring waters. Although there was a lot of small aquatic creatures in the lake, we did not see any evidence of, for example, any fish. There were also a few water birds about. Given all this, we were pleasantly surprised that there was no foul smell of any kind coming from the lake water.
Perhaps the most disappointing thing was the amount of rubbish ... plastics and bottles etc ... in and around the lake. This cannot say much for the patrons who we presume discarded the material; but we were equally disappointed that the resort appeared to be doing nothing to clear it all up (and perhaps enforce some sort of environment preservation regulation for patrons?).
I hope you consider this a useful, friendly, honest and objective review. Indeed, we expect to be back again in future.
