Warmbaths
Warmbaths (now known also as Bela-Bela) is situated just an hour outside of Gauteng in the Limpopo province of South Africa. This area offers visitors easy access to the heart of the African bushveld. Just an hour away from central Johannesburg, the Warmbaths community has created a vibrant and thriving community.
The name Warmbaths comes from the unique natural ‘warm baths’ that occur here. Recently renamed to the Tswana word “Bela bela” meaning natural springs, this awesome natural spectacle continues to attract visitors. Shooting over 22,000 litres of warm water (at 50 degree’s Celsius) at regular intervals, these springs are a magnificent sight! The waters are also believed to have healing powers, because they are rich in calcium carbonate, sodium chloride and a variety of natural salts.
This area is filled with picturesque family resorts that are completely family friendly. Featuring colorful waterslides and jam-packed activity choices, these resorts are ideal for families looking to relax and kick back. The area is also known for its heavenly wellness centres that offer a variety of beauty and relaxation treatments. There are also tented lodges offering a luxurious version of the camping experience. Alternatively, you could rough it the good old-fashioned way, and stay at one of the many inviting campsites.
