Lesedi, a multicultural village, have five traditional homesteads: Ndebele and their colorful homes; the Xhosa living in their perfectly thatched rondawels with their distinctive white blankets; opposed with the Basotho and their colored blankets; the Pedi with their music of drums and whistles; and last, but not least, the Zulu's with their fighting sticks and cozy beehive huts.

Lesedi is situated amongst the pristine bushveld and rocky hills and under an hour's drive north of Johannesburg. Lesedi is full of families living their traditional and peaceful lives. This Sotho word, Lesedi, means "light". A great leader and founder of the Southern Sotho Nation, Moshoeshoe, made Lesedi famous. Refugees from many nations joined him and were saved by him, during the Mfecane wars.
