Known as the second extraction refinery for oil from coal after Sasolburg, the industrial town of Secunda is located in the coalfields of Mpumalanga, South Africa. The town of Secunda was first established in the early 1980’s by a merger of Sasol Two and Three who produce synthetic fuel and diesel. The town itself contains a population of roughly 40,000 people.
