Kedar Country Hotel, Conference Centre & Spa Reviews

Thanks!!
We had a wonderfull stay. Thank you for being able to book us at such short notice. It was my daughter's b-day and they made a fuss and baked a wonderfull cake for her. Thank you so much for that. We loved the secluded and quiet rooms and really enjoyed a walk on the farm. We also had a really good gamedrive. Thanks all was nice.

Tree Maitenance & Bed types
We liked the first apperances.
When we looked at the Doublebed more closely and saw that it was two 3/4 beds made into a Queen with a thin soft covering and queen linen we were very disapointed. My wife had specifically stated she wanted a double bed not two singles.

Well we did not think that was the end of the world.

The Saterday night before Valentines day the wind blew very hard. A 3 to 4 inch branch banged and skrapped its other brances and leaves over a wide area for atleast 3 and a half hours from a little after midnight to almost dawn. Not fun at all. I have travelled a lot both in RSA and abroad through Africa, Europe, UK and Austral in the last 13 years. The night at Kedar was the most terrible night I have ever had way from home.

Instection by myself and latter the manager on duty confirmed the branch had actually bent the edge of the roof and had visable evidence the branch had done its horrible thing.

Both these problems were preventable with a little maintenance and housekeeping planning. I am very disappointed.

There were appologies afterwards and promissed feed back from the other management. This has also not materialied.
Life is tough, do not look for much simpathy from me when 2010 visitors bitch their hearts out in 100 days time.

Super service.
I had to cancell my booking at the last minute due to death in the family. Kedar (Tamra Snyman) was very understanding and even refunded my deposit. Even though I did not stay there, the service and support was more than what I expected and I plan to book there again soon.

The people were very nice and the grounds were well kept. However, Room #1 did not have a door or screen for any privacy to the toilet. I do not know how many other rooms are like this but I would recommend doing something to close the toilet off. I would also suggest a warning to guests about the road construction to Sun City as there are many potholes and parts of the road are not paved yet.

We booked for dinner, bed and breakfast but weren't expecting too much from the food. Breakfast and dinner were served in the restaurant in a buffet style and the range and quantity of both was excellent. The rooms are laid out as chalets in the grounds and were simple, but clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful and I would definitely go back again.
