Good but some improvements.
We enjoyed the stay very much and will go again. The only thing was the cleanliness of the chalet was very average, on the second day the floors were not clened, the bathroom foor was actually muddy, we had difficulty getting the right number of towels and when they came, they didn't smell very fresh - I would take my own another time.
The restaurant was of good standard, our overseas guests enjoyed the breakfasts in particular.
The pool is great but could be greatly improved with a few loungers and umbarellas. Also the terrace on the restarant needs umbarellas and table, it was very hot inside and would have been lovelly to eat outside.

Restuarant terrible
Amazing accommodation in the safari tents. Bakgatla is a lovely resort. However the restuarant spoils this resort. Food is absolutely awful. Buffet dinner not much variety and very tough meat. Breakfast buffet not much better, with food running out and not been replaced for the diners just arriving. Tables not set properly and having to ask staff for knives, forks etc. Very hot inside and no air-con or even a fan. We cannot self cater in the safari tents and had no choice but to eat at the restuarant! This resort should look at the setup at Manyane. I am sure a lot of people will not return to Bakgatla because of this! I love the Pilansberg and will continue to do so but will self cater in future!

Bakgatla resort
I really had a wonderful stay with my family right from the beginning to the end. We enjoyed the exceptional hospitality of the Batswana people with their friendliness. The lady who was looking after the cleanliness of our room was just unbilevable. I can still recall her name as Naume.

Excellent service
We took our daughter and Aussie son in law to Pilansberg for 4 days and was he impressed with the service we got at the restaurant!(We stayed at Bakgatla.) Actually, impressed with service wherever we went. Nice to hear such positive comments. They were here 5 years ago, and noticed a huge change- for the better!

Please review as constructive.
Accommodaton in the unit is great. The buffet is basic and not sophiscated(the look and feel). I think if you are charging the rate the general appearance and level of sophistication is too basic! We are avid SanParks/ Kruger visitors and money for money - Kruger is better value. By coming on line with them - you will open a whole new market.

Bakgatla resort review
Set in the Pilanesberg national park this resort is effectively a campsite although it has some chalets. We stayed in a well equipped chalet, although it was quite cosy for 5 guests but it did have 2 bathrooms (1 en suite). There was a terrace with outdoor table and bbq facility. The campsite is pleasant and there are some amenities such as shop and 2 washing machines for the whole site, a large outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant block plus a staffed 24 hour reception. The breakfast is excellent with a range of cooked, cereals, fruits and yoghurts and tea and coffee. The national park entrance is adjacent to this resort and has a fantastic array of wildlife. 3 days/nights well spent in this area.

Bakgathla
The resort is good, restaurant very pleasant, even if it was temporary in the Conference Centre due to upgrading, the food was great too. But, the chalet, oh dear, that needs a lot of maintenance or upgrading. The bathroom door could not close, the blinds in the main bedroom were broken, so the stay was not very pleasant unfortunately. Our Chalet was No.8

A bit more work needs to be done to improve the actual sites. Sites are small and when it rains some of the stands are really flooded, especially tent sites. Swimming pool was great as well as the service in both the shop as well as restaurant.

Bakgatla accommodation
Accommodation was adequate but could do with an upgrade. Loft area very warm and could be better insulated and have larger windows that would assist with air flow. Loft area needs curtains in the small windows. Need a spotlight for the braai as outside light not adequate. Facilities in resort were good.

Basic accommodation, some what a little cramped, however bearing in mind it was only to sleep in it was fine.

Adequate facilities were available on site, brilliant safari and great food.
