A mere 3= hours from Johannesburg/Pretoria, Iketla is the ideal stopover en-route to the Kruger National Park and other private game reserves. A central thatched area houses the lounge, dining area and bar. It has stunning views of the surrounding mountains. An open sundeck overlooks the sparkling pool.
ACCOMMODATION:
Guests are accommodated in spacious stone-and-thatch cottages, all with en-suite facilities and private patios. The private patios overlook a natural valley and offer spectacular views of the amphitheatre of mountains and cliffs.
The cottages are individually decorated and guests may choose between double or twin beds. All cottages are equipped with coffee and tea making facilities, reading tables and lounge chairs. The en-suite facilities include shower, toilet and basin as well as an outside, very private, shower.
CUISINE:
Continental / English breakfast is served from 08:00 to 09:00 and a light lunch is served at midday in the dining-area. A three course dinner is served, weather permitting, in the boma around the campfire in the evenings.
ACTIVITIES:
Guests can relax around the pool, enjoy nature walks or mountain biking in the bush. Routes, varying from 30 minutes to 6+ hours, in this 1200 acre privately owned conservation area, are well marked and safe. Explore the diverse ecology on your own or in the company of a very experienced and knowledgeable guide. For the less energetic, various lookout points have been created.
Iketla Lodge is owned and managed by Albert & Hennielene Botha who previously owned a private game lodge in the Greater Kruger Park area for 9 years. It has long been their dream to establish a nature retreat where guests can be totally relaxed. They have vast experience in the hospitality industry and their hallmark has always been their personal service and attention to detail.
