Take a guided game drive through the 650ha game reserve that is home to two of the Big Five (Rhino and Buffalo) and 20 other game species. As these game drives are very popular booking is essential. Birders will have their hands full trying to identify some of the 176 recorded species in the reserve.

For the less adventurous indoor games such as table tennis, chess and a full sized snooker are available.

The modern self-contained conference centre consists of five air-conditioned rooms that can cater for up to 100 delegates. For a more intimate presentation or conference our 10 seater syndicate rooms are ideal. All the rooms offer standard AV equipment and wireless Internet connectivity.

The centre has its own toilets and telephones. Additional conference rooms and facilities are available at the main Lodge building, should they be required. It was a big evening for Heia Safari Ranch at the recent West Rand Tourism Awards gala event at Silverstar Casino. Heia Safari Ranch was established in 1970 and was one of the first tourist properties in the Muldersdrift area. Heia will be celebrating it’s 40th year in the tourist industry in 2010, certainly an excellent achievement by any standard. Although the property has remained almost the same, Lake Heritage and the Franz Richter Dam Wall were completed in 2006. The dam wall is the largest hand-built stone dam in the world. The lake has been declared the “cleanest dam in Gauteng” and will once again host the largest inland swim in Jan 2010.

Against this background the awards that Gaby Burgmer and her daughter Bianca walked away with at the ceremony are a true testament to their ongoing commitment to service excellence. ”I would like to dedicate these awards to my father, who dedicated his life promoting tourism in this area” said Burgmer after receiving her final award.
