Edgecombe House

This three hectare family estate focuses on businesses and retreats for people wanting spend some time in natural surroundings. Edgecombe House has been owned by Russell Milborrow for almost four decades and has transformed from six polo stables to a conference centre with a guest house in 2001.

Located on the R55 in Midrand, this lodge and conference facility is within a few kilometres of all the main highways in the Johannesburg and Pretoria area.

During the day a six roomed conference centre is used by delegates who have technological gadgets at hand to engage in productive talks and the weary delegates can stay in the accompanying upmarket guest house at night. There are four bedrooms, with en-suite facilities and a cosy lounge with fireplace for winter evenings to warm up the guests. If this gets too hot, step out onto the veranda to get some air of visit the bar and elegant dining area for social interaction. The conference centre has a wooden deck with an entertainment area overlooking the lawns and the pool and it will not feel like a business outing when surrounded by green paddocks and large gardens where springbok roam and birdlife can be heard clearly.

From a safety perspective there is under-cover parking for all guests staying overnight and grounds are patrolled by on-site armed security guard. In the event of a power failure that could ruin any business meeting, Edgecombe House has an independent electrical backup plant, ensuring constant delivery of power to the entire estate.
