We are 20 minutes from the central business area. All rooms are equipped with electricity and plug points. The town of Louis Trichard is continually expanding and has an estimated population of about 15 000. This is an intensively cultivated agricultural area. For the nature lover, Tuinhuis is a paradise located amongst some of the last remaining indigenous forest in the area.

The area is good for sightings of buck, bushpig, red duiker and leopard. The most prominent feature of the region is the Soutpansberg mountain range which cuts across from East to West just to the North of Louis Trichardt. The mountain range is named after a large salt pan at the base of its northwestern slopes. This pan has been used as a waterhole by game since time immemorial, and salt has been mined there from the Stone Age until the present.
