Just over an hours drive away from Johannesburg and Pretoria, 20km outside Magaliesburg, Kokopelli Farm Cottage offers you the ideal environment and scenery that is not just relaxing but truly soul enriching.
The farm is nestled amongst the hills of the Witwatersrand mountain range overlooking the majestic Magalies mountains in a quiet and secluded valley away from any traffic and settlements. It lies in the ecological zone called the Banken Veld, which is between the cold Highveld (mainly grass lands) and the hot Bushveld savanna and offers splendid fauna and flora.
The farm offers unspoiled veld, bush and berg with an indigenous forest tucked away in a ravine. A fountain runs through it with clear water so cold and refreshing. Ancient stone circles and other ruins are attractions besides the stunning views from the cliffs close by. All of these make wonderful picnic spots.
In this diverse ecological zone you will also find the bird life equally diverse, from predatory birds to forest, veld and water birds. Small game still roams freely on the farm. Baboons, monkeys, reed buck and jackal are frequently encountered on the farm.
The cottage is the only accommodation available to the public and your stay is therefore totally private and secluded. The accommodation consists of a timber cottage set against the mountain side with clear and vast views over the Buffelsfontein valley onto the impressive Magaliesberg mountains on the horizon.
The cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 people and is fully self catering. It is equipped with gas appliances (no electricity), a fireplace and a braai area.
