Jaci's Safari Lodges

Jaci's Safari Lodge masterfully blends into its surroundings, encompassing a magnificent main area built around an ancient termite mound. The location was discovered and the concept envisaged by Jan in combination with Jaci's colorful decorating style and attention to detail you are sure of a memorable and unique Safari experience.

Featuring only eight large rooms and the exclusive 2 bed-roomed "Nare Suite" - all built with shaggy thatched roofs, canvas walls and large tented windows - to create a true safari atmosphere, inviting you to enjoy your bush surroundings. Early risers may catch a glimpse of Bush Babies returning to roost in the trees around the rooms or enjoy the morning Francolin calls.

The generous Main Lodge consists of a spacious lounge and open plan dining area with uninterrupted views of the bush. Enjoy fire cooked meals in our enclosed boma, or under the stars at a bush braai.

Arrive by air after an easy 45 minute flight from Gauteng, or enjoy a scenic drive on tarred roads to the entrance of the Reserve.

“Tree House” is constructed amongst the Riverine forest on stilts, up to 4 meters from the ground. In these spacious “Tree Houses” – built utilising a combination of rosewood, thatch and stacking doors - the forest surrounds are invited in, to compliment your stay with us. An open plan, en-suite bathroom with an enormous stone bath and outdoor “Jungle Shower” allow you to enjoy your forest surrounds. Relax, on the deck in front of your room, in the main lodge or wander to the forest pool to cool off. Raised wooden walkways link all the rooms to the main lodge. Nare Suite: This exciting addition to Jaci’s is an exclusive “bush retreat”- so named because of the resident Buffalo Bull who frequents the waterhole in front of the Suite (along with the numerous other animal visitors). The Nare Suite accommodates a maximum of four guests, is the latest addition to Jaci’s.

The Nare Suite bedrooms each have open plan bathrooms, with a hand made “rock” bath and outdoor “safari” shower. A wooden viewing deck overlooks a fabulous water hole and encompasses a private swimming pool. The lounge and outdoor dining area, overlook a wooden viewing deck and an active water hole encompassing a private swimming pool. Equipped with a self contained kitchen – our chefs can prepare meals for you in the luxury of your own retreat.

Equipped with a private game vehicle and professional guide you are assured of a bush breakaway to be remembered and repeated.

Jaci's provides outstanding venues, complete with a team of people to ensure your special day is hassle free. At Jaci's we assist you in planning the perfect day. We have catered for several weddings from 80 to 5 guests, each created around the individual needs of the wedding couple. Our wedding package includes our usual daily activities and meals. The extra details (flowers, pastor, photographer, etc.) are privately arranged and we can assist once everything is at the lodge. Contact us directly for more details, information and inspiration. At Jaci's we can accommodate 36 adults (between Safari and Tree Lodge) which allows two different venues for the ceremony and for the reception.

Children of all ages are welcome at Jaci's. Children aged 12 and under are comfortably accommodated in their parents' room on their own stretcher. Children aged 7 years and under are taken on their own Game Drive during the day by one of our rangers - this is a kiddies drive and is geared totally to the children's interests and age level. We provide an earlier evening meal at 18:00 for the "littlies" as we do not allow children in the boma for the evening meal.

Baby sitters are provided to look after the "littlies" while the parents are on the Game Activities. Children aged 8 to 12 on the Game Drives with their parents are also given an earlier dinner in the dining room, when they return from the Game Drive. We find this works very well as children are hungry and tired by the time we serve and eat dinner. The Game Reserve does not allow children under the age of 12 to do walks inside the Reserve.

Getting to Jaci's Safari Lodge by air: Flights now depart with Madikwe Air / Federal Air direct from Johannesburg International Airport. Departure time is 12h00 daily. Back at JIA on day of depart by 14h30.
