Kyalami
Gauteng is the electric current of South Africa, sparking enthusiasm and expectation through all that frequent her terrain. Not known for its beauty like her counterparts in the Western Cape and KZN, Gauteng is nonetheless the economic powerhouse of the country and boasts various African influences throughout its borders. The city of Johannesburg is an incredible place, which has become renowned for its efficiency and world-class amenities, while the country’s capital of Pretoria is a picturesque more laidback city, home to the Union Buildings.
Another popular attraction in Gauteng is the metropolis of Soweto, which is both fascinating and exciting especially for first-time visitors. The province has much to offer in terms of activities with top attractions including Zoolake, Montecasino, and Gold Reef City; its terrific location also ensures visitors can make their way to the likes of the Lost City and the Kruger National Park without much hassle. Johannesburg is also home to the famous town of Kyalami; with its outstanding racing history and pedigree, enthusiastic petrol heads flock here en masse each year for the various events on offer.
Kyalami boasts the premier karting facility in Gauteng and hosts Sportstar Motorsport as well as Piazza Motorsport. Kyalami’s motor racing circuit has been used for grand prix and formula one races, being the official venue for the South African Formula One Grand Prix. In recent years, the area surrounding the circuit has been revamped and now hosts a range of trendy coffee shops and sumptuous eateries, while the magnificent Kyalami Country Club is ideal for all those golfing addicts that just can’t stay away from the game.
