The Protea Hotel Black Mountain consists of 118 rooms all en-suite and stylishly decorated with ample space. There are 108 twin rooms, 8 luxury rooms, 1 Junior Suite (with a separate lounge and dining area),1 Presidential Suite (with a separate lounge, dining area, kitchenette and guest cloakroom). The rooms all have air-conditioning, satellite TV(DSTV), a telephone, coffee/tea making facilities, hairdryers, laundry service, a valet and dry-cleaning service.

The hotel offers fantastic conference facilities which can host for 14 to 600 guests and standard equipment as well as secretarial facilities. The Moroka Restaurant serves delicious breakfast, lunch and a choice of either a la carte or buffet for dinner and the restaurant can seat up to 200 guests. For lighter meals or snacks the Terrance lounge is open from 10h30 until 18h30 and the bar area will stay open until late. During season the Pool and Snack Bar will be open from 09h00 until 21h00 daily.

If you feel like working out there is a great gym with a sauna and jacuzzi. The children have an entertainment center to keep them occupied and there are sundowner cruises and fishing available as well. If you need someone to watch the children there is baby sitting available on request. For the more adventurous there are 4x4 trails, quad bike trails, game viewing and hiking. The hotel also offers 3 tennis courts, 2 glass-backed squash courts and lots of watersports which is seasonal.
