Kirkness Guest House

Kirkness, the name, has a long tradition and is known to the people of this area as the old brick-making factory where red bricks were made. The peaceful residential area of Clydesdale has many of these red brick houses build with bricks from the Kirkness factory. Our guests are welcomed by the old style charm of a red chimney, traditional sash windows, wooden floors and pressed metal ceilings.

Kirkness Guest House is owned by Phia and Michelle, and was initially used as a psychology practice. Since inception the idea was to share the beauty of this place and offer it as a global home. For the last 2 years we have worked on optimizing this facility to accommodate local and international guests. Careful consideration was taken during this process to stay true to original style but incorporate modern leisure, lifestyle and living.

Pete will make your stay at Kirkness Guest House memorable. Pete is a cob-building expert who bakes fresh bread in a wooden oven. Not to mention his coffee, which you can enjoy with your breakfast and newspaper. Catch the early morning sun on the deck outside or enjoy breakfast in the dining area, on the stoep or in front of the fireplace in the lounge. Kirkness Guest House grows its own herbs and vegetables, and is proud of our ongoing intention to offer our guests hospitality within sustainable conscious living.
