Sky Top Guest House

Nestled amidst the hills of Johannesburg this newly built 7 bedroom 7 bath California style house was completed in 2008. It is designed and operated by an American family with deep roots in South Africa. The awe inspiring establishment is situated in the up market area of Northern Johannesburg.

The house sits atop Auckland Park Ridge, literally a stones throw from the highest point in Johannesburg. The North side of the house is made up largely of glass allowing plenty of sun light into the home while showcasing breath taking panoramic views of the naturally lush African foliage, beyond which lie the Magaliesberg Mountains 70 kilometers away.

We have four spacious corner bedrooms on the top floor, each with its own private shower, toilet and basin. The two North facing bedrooms have their own balconies and magnificent views.

The ground floor has two living rooms, one on either side of a beautiful porcelain tiled center hallway. A large dining area and balcony are located off the fully equipped modern kitchen. This floor also has its own bathroom. The entire floor is spacious, has plenty of natural light and a beautiful view. Designed to capture the natural light from all angles the 5 sky lights and other large glass panes provide all the needed sunlight. This house is "Green!"

The lower level has 3 bedrooms and opens up to a covered patio and the back yard garden.

We are located 30 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes from Sandton City - the shopping mecca Just 10 minutes away is Gold Reef City, South Africa's most famous amusement park and a mere 3 kilometeres down is Melville, some times referred to as the 'Greenwich Village of Johannesburg 'offering a variety of restaurants, night clubs book stores, antique stores and shopping. Hospitals and universities are less than 5 minutes away. Enclosed parking for 5 cars and state of the art security are provided. Phone, internet and shuttle services to and from the airport are available at cost. Breakfast is included and our rates are reasonable.
